The Sacrament of Marriage
The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

Congratulations on your engagement! Spiritual preparation for a lifelong commitment is vital for the marriage. Couples need to be registered at St. Rose of Lima or St. Patrick as parishioners before marriage prep can begin and must contact the priest at least 12 months prior to setting a proposed wedding date.
Engaged couples can preview the marriage prep process here. For any other initial questions about the process after reading the document above, please contact Fr. Powers at (816) 324-5700.
